About me

Hi, I am Michaela – a woman in her twenties, from a country that most of the people on the planet don’t know – the Czech Republic.

I have visited more than one third of the officially recognized countries, and got fed up with travelling in 2020 when I was imprisoned in India for almost two months during the COVID-19 pandemic. I was a professional hitchhiker and a no-cost traveller raised by people from the Couchsurfing community (a platform that is very difficult to define as everyone uses it in the way she likes, but in general, a platform for staying in houses of other people for free and sharing culture). Vegetarian since the age of seven and vegan since the age of 17 (you know how to spot a vegan? They’ll tell you…). A yoga teacher and a sailor with a master degree in International Economics Relations.

During my student years, I was hitchhiking around the world with a very low budget. When I first raised my thumb in 2015, I would never imagine how far that simple gesture could take me. Back then, it was just 20km. The second time already 5000. Up till now hundreds of thousands. I decided to write a few books about my life and organise various activities in Valencia where I live now.
